Today is my birthday and my awesome, handsome, fantastic husband got me an iPad! I love this tablet and have been playing with it and trying to figure out all the fun things I can do with it. I have already downloaded the Kindle, Nook and Bluefire Reader apps but wanted to know what other bookish apps are available. This is my first Apple product I would love to hear your recommendations. I am also curious about what you love most about your iPad or iPhone. I know millions are hooked to these things and now I see why….

You already have the most important one - bluefire reader. I read my NetGalley's on that.
Kindle and Nook are also wonderful. I actually really like the iBooks reader. You can load Nook books on it and I like reading on it better.
Goodreads has an app that's nice.
I also have my gmail reader set up on mine so I can read all the blogs I follow on it.

I love my iPad for reading too, the only thing is the battery doesn't last long, but the book view and flipping pages is awesome!

I definitely second everything StuckInBooks said - Goodreads and Bluefire for NetGalley.
Also, definitely download the Kindle software because that's really easy to use. Plus, the iBooks store doesn't always have everything available, though I'm sure Apple is working to correct that as soon as possible!
I have to say, I was totally anti-iBooks at first (I insisted on using my Kindle on my iPad), but now I LOVE it. Plus there's something so fun about looking at that bookshelf with all the gorgeous covers!

Goodreads!! You can scan books and add them to your TBR instantly. You can also use it to scan things and add to your currently reading list.

I love my Kindle app on my phone, so I hope its equally as soon on the iPad!

I don't have an Ipad but I have an Ipod, and I use MobileRSS app to read blog posts.
